History of Rochester Help to New Orleans = RH2NO

Lawn in New OrleansRH2NO is the second phase of a relief effort launched in October 2005 by Third Presbyterian Church in response to Hurricane Katrina's devastating impact on New Orleans. Since May 2009 the project has completed 9 trips, expediting 97 relief workers to New Orleans, assisting countless homeowners in building and rebuilding their homes.

While construction work is the tangible evidence of RH2NO's work, its intangible impact on New Orleans is restoring hope to its displaced and disadvantaged citizens.

Funding for RH2NO is provided by Third Presbyterian Church of Rochester, NY. Third's vision is to take the work of rebuilding New Orleans, a ministry they as a church community are deeply committed to, beyond their own church walls, out into the greater Rochester community.

"On that day I will raise up the booth of David that is fallen, and repair its breaches, and raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old." Amos 9:11 (NRSV)
